Recipes: Tiki Cocktails with Underwood Rosé
/While we are hunkered down at the Mini Bungalow for the next couple weeks, we’ve stocked up on bar supplies to experiment with. Since we can’t go out, now is the perfect time to mix up some cocktails as we prepare for the spring weather to shine down on us. We wanted to start this series of recipes with a couple created for Union Wine Co. by Hale Pele’s very own Mindy Kucan.
Union Wine Co. was so generous to send us over their Underwood Rosé. We don’t normally stock wine at our bar because Rubén has an allergy to reds, but we’re always open to taste testing. And since these recipes were made with tropical, poolside vibes in mind, we just had to! While these don’t claim to be Tiki cocktails, they actually pair well with a lot of those classic Tiki flavors we know and love. So if you love rosé and Tiki, it’s a win win! You’ll find the recipes for their rosé based cocktails “Takin’ a Break” and “Old Days” below.
Takin’ A Break
2 oz Underwood Rosé
1 oz Lemon Juice
1 oz Sparkling Water
.75 oz Homemade Paradise Blend Syrup
.5 oz Gin
Probably our favorite of the two. The Paradise Blend Syrup really tie all the flavors together in this one. The cinnamon and grapefruit add that Tiki kick to keep it interesting.
Old Days
2 oz Underwood Rosé
1/2 tsp Passionfruit Syrup
2 Short Dashes of Lavender Bitters
This one was fruity, floral, and a little tangy, which will make for a really good drink to lounge by the pool with…or in this case on the couch.
They sound pretty good, right? We found them very simple to make. The recipes are on the smaller side, so we ended up doubling it. If any of you happen to have some or all of these ingredients, you should absolutely try these out. We know we’ll be making these again as soon as we’re free to have our friends over for a game night.
Thanks again to Union Wine Co. for helping us “think outside the glass.” Can’t wait to try more of your selection!
