Tiki Tuesday: The Bywater

It may seem the final days of tiki season are upon us, but that’s not the case here at the Tiki Collective. Last night we took our mid-week escape to the third and final night of The Bywater’s Tiki Bar Pop-up.

For this tiki event, guest bartender Jason Strich of Manresa created a tropical rum-filled drink menu. To get things started we ordered the Lazy Tuesday, a playful cocktail with rum, amaro, orange juice, lime and orgeat. We followed that with Jason’s take on the Grog, a rye and rum combo with black tea, and lime. Both drinks strong, delicious, and easy to sip.

The Bywater is known for its New Orleans-inspired dishes. Restaurant manager and our friend, Michael reccomended we order the Oyster po’boy. Hot fried oysters inside a crispy french loaf which we topped with their house made funky pineapple hot sauce. It’s hard to explain how good it was, but lucky for you it’s part of their regular menu so you can still head over and give it a try.

We’ll have more tiki bar tours for you in the coming weeks, but for now, get out there and enjoy some cocktails!
