Tiki Tuesday: Forbidden Island

On this week’s adventure we were joined by our Tiki loving friends, Mel and Tim as we traveled East to the Forbidden Island Tiki Lounge.

12 years a go they started a Parking Lot Sale that turned out to be a huge success. They now describe to be the largest assortment of vintage collectibles, mid-century decor, classic artwork, ceramics and retro-fashions this side of paradise.

With a parking lot packed with vendors, there were some treasures to be found. We came out with a some goodies that we’ll posting about later, but right now we’ll get in to what we ordered at the bar. From the golden age classics to and the modern age creations, there was a lot to choose from and let me say we made the right choices!

Mel started the day off with a classic Mai Tai. Can’t go wrong with Appleton Jamaican rum with lime, orange curaçao, and orgeat.

Kane followed up with the Lei Lani Volcano. So good we ordered it twice! Made with Koloa Coconut rum hulas, guava and pineapple.

I went for something simple, a Stiggins Daiquiri with Plantation Pineapple Rum, lime, and sugar.

Tim being the champ that he is, went all out with the strongest 1950 Zombie made with three rums, citrus, passion fruit, and pineapple.

Not pictured, but definitely worth ordering is the Macadamia Nut Chi Chi.

We had a little too much fun, be coming back for another round of those Volcanos! Be sure to check out Forbidden Island’s calendar so you don’t miss out on their next event.
